News:

01-3-09 The SEAT Supercopa series has announced today a deal with ITV for coverage of the 9 races on ITV's Men and Motors channel. Each race meeting will form a 1 hour show with highlights being broadcast on Satellite channel MOTORS TV and Channel FIVE.

Tim commented "The announcement today regarding TV coverage is a great addition to the series. At a time when sponsors are assessing their spend in far greater detail extra exposure is a great opportunity to add value and improve ROI. I am really excited about the coming season and thoroughly looking forward to the first round at Donington Park in April".

27-2-09 Following yesterday's SEAT Supercopa test at Castle Combe Tim has confirmed that he will contest the 2009 series with Advent Motorsport. Tim will join Swede Freddy Nordstrom at the Norfolk based team.

25-2-09 Tim will be at Castle Combe in Wiltshire tomorrow for the official pre season test of the 2009 SEAT Supercopa UK. The new series, formed from the now defunct SEAT Cupra Championship sees drivers go head to head in identical 300bhp SEAT Leon touring cars. Crighton is in discussions with front running team Advent Motorsport regarding a drive in all or some of the new series.

03-11-08 Tim Crighton Racing have a limited number of exclusive sponsorship packages available for the 2009 season. For further information and details of how your business can profit from this opportunity please contact Sue at sponsorship@timcrighton.com

09-10-08 Tim Crighton has today confirmed that he is in discussions with Beechdean Motorsport to drive their Aston Martin N24 in the November BritCar Night Race to be held at Brands Hatch, Kent. The event which features a firework display and racing is to be held on the 15th of November. Crighton who raced with Beechdean in the Silverstone 24 hour race earlier in the season is excited about the opportunity: "I'm very much looking forward to getting back into the car at Brands. It'll be an opportunity to really go out and see what the car can achieve over a short race distance as well as a 24 hour event.".

Tim also stated that he is actively considering a number of drives for 2009 in both the British and FIA GT Championships. "Obviously it would be great to be racing in the UK, but I will look at were we are going to get the best opportunities and also were we can realise the best value for our partners".

25-9-08 Tim is in discussions with Beechdean Motorsport regarding their plans for the 2009 season: “We had such a strong result at Silverstone and the team did a great job. It would be great to be able to do something with Beechdean in 2009. I’m keen to make a return to GT racing and I know the team are looking at options in both the British GT and FIA GT4 Cup so we’ll continue talking and see what comes of it. Both series are well publicised and I’m confident that despite the economic concerns companies will still continue to recognise the value that can be had from motorsport sponsorship".

22-09-08 Beechdean Motorsport were delighted to walk away from the Silverstone BritCar 24 hour race with a stunning 2nd and 4th position overall and 1st and 3rd position in class II. The #24 and #25 Aston Martin N24’s ran faultlessly throughout the event and required only fuel, brake pads and tyres to keep them running. Crighton who was driving the #25 Aston for the team during the event was ecstatic with the result: “We set ourselves a target of getting both cars in the top 10 and we’ve smashed that – taking a podium overall is just unbelievable! The Aston’s have proven their worth in Class II taking 1st, 2nd and 3rd overall and it’s a great testament to the car. The car is so easy to drive it makes doing our job pretty easy really!”. A solid run through the night stints moved both cars inside the top 10 and the retirement of the leading Marcos in the 19th hour elevated both cars to their final 2nd and 4th positions.

19-09-08 Silverstone BritCar 24 hour qualifying: The #25 Aston Martin of Beechdean Motorsport and driven by Tim Crighton, Jon Simmonds, Adrian Watt and Chris Wilson secured 22nd position on the grid for the Saturday’s race pipping the #24 Aston of teammates Neil Cunningham, James Gornall, Jamie Smyth and Andrew Howard by one place. Crighton who set the fastest times during both the day and night qualifying sessions was naturally delighted with the result: “The car feels really well balanced and should be comfortable to drive for the stints that we plan to run during the race. I just can’t wait for the race now!”.

30-7-08 Advent Motorsport have today confirmed that they will field a car in this weekend's Dunlop Sport Maxx series at Donnington Park, Leicestershire. The car will be driven by regularly team driver Tim Crighton as part of their assessment of the series for 2009. A spokesman for Advent Motorsport stated: "We are looking at various options for the team in 2009 including a move to the British GT Championship. Part of our assessment is to run a car in the Dunlop Sport Maxx series as we see this as a series which continues to grow and may provide an alternative home for our existing fleet of BMW MINIs". The car will be a former S Class Cooper Works MINI run by Advent Motorsport in the UK MINI Challenge with simple modifications to ensure its compliance with the Sport Maxx regulations.

21-7-08 It was a sucessful weekend for Tim and the Advent Motorsport team in the latest round of the UK MINI Challenge series at Wiltshire's Castle Combe circuit. Tim qualified strongly in the #76 MINI securing second position for each of the weekend's three races. Race 1 provided a close battle with Advent team mate Graham Parsons. Tim lead into the final lap by a car length from Parsons. Frustratingly for Crighton his line into the important Tower corner was compromised by an 'S' class runner forcing him wide and allowing Parsons through with Tim having to settle for second spot at the chequered flag. Tim drove solidly during races 2 and 3 securing 2nd position in both races.

Tim said: "It is always frustrating to be that close to victory 3 times in a weekend and not be taking home a winners trophy, but we had a solid performance and I'm pleased with the result. At the end of the day we're not in the hunt for championship honours and Graham (Parsons) is, so it's always better for the team to end up with a 1-2 and both cars finishing than an over optimistic move and taking your team mate off!". On the possibility of further outings in the MINI Challenge Tim said: "I'm not sure as to whether we'll be out in the Challenge again this season or not. It comes down to a matter of budget and availability, but I'm keen to do it certainly."

10-7-08 Tim has today confirmed that he will contest the next round of the UK MINI Challenge as the 2008 program visits Castle Combe in Wiltshire. Tim will race for top team Advent Motorsport in the triple header round to be held over the weekend of the 19th/20th of July. Tim says "Following the great weekend we had at Croft it was sensible to see if we could continue in the series and when the opportunity arose for a seat at Castle Combe I jumped at it. The MINI Challenge is a great series, and provides excellent value for money and coverage for our sponsors as well. We've had good results there before, and it were I contested my first ever race, so I'm really looking forward to it - its a little like going home!".

25-6-08 Following on going discussions with Renault Sport, Tim is hopeful of contesting the last round of the 2008 Renault Sport Clio Cup in Belgium. The round will support the high profile BelCar series at the daunting Spa circuit in the heart of the Ardenne. Having raced at Spa with the MINI Challenge in 2006 Tim is looking forward to the event "Its a great opportunity for me to race in a different series. Spa is a fantastic circuit and the race, which at the moment is a one off, will hopefully help us cement our plans for the 2009 season. There are some great opportunities available in Europe at the moment and the Clio Cup is an option for us in 2009".

15-6-08 Race one proved frustrating for Tim and his Advent Motorsport team after gearbox failure struck the #76 MINI whilst leading on lap 4 at Croft. Tim managed to limp the MINI back to the pit lane but with no instant repair possible the team were forced to retire the car. A lightening change of gearbox (a record 1 and a quarter hours!) by the Advent team got the car ready for Race Two. This time it was a convincing lights to flag victory for the #76 MINI in dry conditions. Tim's Advent Motorsport team mate Graham Parsons chased hard in second place giving the team a resounding 1-2 at the end of the 25 minute race. Tim said "It was great to be able to come back to the series with a victory and to be able to walk away from the weekend with 2 pole positions, a fastest lap and a win is just fantastic. The team worked so hard to replace the gearbox after race one and I owed it to them to make it a win!"

14-6-08 Tim has secured pole position for both of tomorrows MINI Challenge races at North Yorkshires Croft Circuit. Tim lead home his Advent Motorsport team mates Graham Parsons and Kristian Waite giving the team the top 3 positions in the rain interrupted session. Tim was delighted with the result "It's great to be back in the (MINI) Challenge and straight back on the pace, the car felt pretty good considering the weather and I think we're looking good for tomorrows race."
